A new generation of GPS devices has found its entry into dedicated personal trackers and mobile phones. This takes GPS technology out of vehicles and put it in the hands of persons. The result is a magnitude of new services ranging from personal safety and man-down features, to time registration and quality and process control.

Sycada has developed a person-based GPS tracking solutions (around the m!Trace Mini device) that allow mobile workers to register start and end of a working day and for automatic registration of service delivery on locations during the day. A similar solution is being developed for GPS-enabled phones.

DHL Global Mail is using the solution to monitor the delivery quality on the level of depots and individual postal workers in the Netherlands. Please refer to the case example for more information on this innovative application for controlling the ‘last mile’ in postal delivery services.
