Online functionality

Page functions:

Track & trace

The track & trace functionality gives you access to real-time position data for your entire fleet, route logging, zone-monitoring and geo-fencing, detailed operational reports, as well as active alerting and alarm functionality. All the features you would expect from a professional tracking solution, and more.

You can review the details of the track & trace functionality under the GPS tracking section of this website.

Messaging

Central users can communicate with your drivers directly from the m!Truck application using either pre-defined messages or free text. Messages are sent to the designated truck(s) and driver(s) can reply easily with pre-defined responses or manually inputted text on the mobile device.

You can also send messages to groups of drivers in one go informing them about incidents or other relevant information.

Activity logging

Driving times are automatically logged and other activities are registered via the on-board terminals. This gives your planners direct insight into the status of job orders and allows for detailed reporting on the level of vehicles, locations and drivers.

The system is flexible enough for you to detail your own activities to report on, but usually the following activities are relevant:
  • Driving
  • Resting
  • Loading
  • Unloading
  • Waiting
  • Tanking
  • Border
  • Ferry
  • Other

Expenses

Drivers can register incurred expenses on the on-board computers, eliminating the need for paper-based expense reporting. By registration, the driver can choose between different expense categories and currencies. All expenses are neatly categorized and logged in the central system.

Job orders

You can dispatch job orders yourself via the m!Truck application or via your existing planning systems, when interfaced with the Sycada solution. The job orders are sent to the on-board terminals. Any change in the status of a job order is automatically reported to the central system so that planners have direct insight into the status of a given order.

Sycada uses a common workflow for the job orders that you can decide to implement partly or in full depending on how much data you want captured on the level of the individual job order. Some terminals will also allow for a digital signature of the client.

Returns and pallet administration can also be facilitated on your request.

Navigation

The integrated navigation solution allows drivers to request navigation support automatically when activating a job order. The driver can also manually input an address.

Sycada works with Map & Guide’s TruckNavigator software, specifically designed for heavy transport.

If you have chosen a combination of GPS black-box and connected PND you will make use of Garmin navigation software and maps. Sycada is certified Fleet Management partner of Garmin and we have integrated parts of our fleet management software on the Garmin navigation terminals.

In either case, your planners will be kept up-to-date with estimated time of arrival (ETA) times pertaining to active job orders. This allows planners to (pro)actively inform customers on status and/or possible delays.

Driver security

The safety of your cargo and your drivers is important. Sycada helps you improve both.

Access to your cargo can be monitored via door sensors that register all open and close events and automatically controls that this happens within time periods or on locations where this is authorized. If this is not the case, designated users of the system will be alerted by means of active messaing, e-mail or SMS.

Driver safety can be enhanced by means of an easy-to-operate panic button mounted in the cabin or by means of a personal GPS tracker with alarm feature and automated man-down alerts.

Operational reporting

m!truck features rich reporting functionality allowing you to closely manage your operations. Reporting is done at different levels, including:
  • Per driver: start/stop times, locations and activity logbook (working/resting times)
  • Per vehicle: start/stop times, locations, trip length, speed and mileage
  • Per trip: start/stop time, mileage and location
  • Per stop: time arrival/departure time and location, waiting time on location, any relevant sensor information (temperature) if connected.
  • Exceptions: Pertaining to geo-fencing of locations, date & time restrictions for driving, sensor inputs (access to cargo) and temperature limits.

Conditioned transport

Sycada can help you control the temperature of transported goods from basis to destination. All temperature readings are forwarded to the central server, logged, and reported on. We can automatically generate alerts if the temperature exceeds the desired range that you have defined in the system for a given shipment.

Sycada works with both wired and wireless temperature sensors, so depending on your operational needs and the number of sensors per trailer needed, you can opt for either. Our wireless sensor tags will operate for up to 5 years on internal batteries.
